To help keep you protected, the North Central District Health Department will host a drive-thru COVID vaccine clinic for all four counties from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Shelby County Health Department, 615 11th Street in Shelbyville.

The holiday season will be here before you know it, so make sure you’re prepared for parties and family get-togethers by staying up to date with your COVID-19 vaccination.

To help keep you protected, the North Central District Health Department will host a drive-thru COVID vaccine clinic for all four counties from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, at the Shelby County Health Department, 615 11th Street in Shelbyville.

Make your appointment today by visiting www.NCDHD.com, clicking the Patient Portal link at the top of the page, selecting Event Registration and enter the code NCDHD16. Then just fill out the information and select your time.

Much like the yearly flu vaccine, the 2024-25 COVID-19 vaccine targets the newest variants. Along with providing protection from the most current strains, the COVID vaccine also helps prevent severe cases and long-haul COVID.This extra-hours vaccine clinic will feature COVID-19 vaccines for ages 6 months and older.

Insurance will be accepted, and updated COVID-19 vaccines are free to most adults at no cost through private health insurance, Medicaid and Medicare. Along with Medicaid and Medicare (Advantage Plans), NCDHD accepts Humana, and Anthem insurances. Assistance will be available for those without insurance, with the vaccine available at little or no cost.

The North Central District Health Department follows CDC and Kentucky Department of Public Health guidelines, which recommend updated COVID-19 vaccines for everyone eligible.

“It’s important to make sure you are protected against COVID-19 as we move into the holiday season,” said Roanya Rice, NCDHD director. “The vaccine can reduce your chances of getting COVID and prevent severe illness. Make sure you and those around you are protected so everyone can celebrate safely together.”

Visit www.NCDHD.com to make your appointment today. If you don’t have online access, you can also call your local health department to make an appointment for Nov. 16, and walk-ins will be welcome.

Flu, COVID-19 and RSV vaccines are also available at all clinics during normal hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to noon on Fridays. Call your local clinic to set up an appointment.
