General Duties Include:
Works directly with the Clinical Operations Director to support all aspects of the daily routine, exercising discretion in managing the Director’s calendar, coordinating meeting preparation and administrative demands of the Director. Determines the priority of matters requiring the Director’s attention, redirecting issues to appropriate staff or handling them personally as circumstances warrant. Keeps the Director advised of time-sensitive and priority issues, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
Serves as a liaison between the Clinical Operations Director, staff and the public, including receiving and screening phone calls and visitors, answering a variety of questions with tact and diplomacy, taking messages, and directing calls appropriately for resolution. Greets visitors, manages inbound calls and must be able to precisely record, transcribe and dispense detailed minutes of meetings.
Creates, edits, reviews and proofreads documents using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Composes letters and correspondence as needed. Provides technical assistance during conference calls and presentations. Maintains the filing system and ensures accurate, timely completion of routine daily, weekly and monthly tasks assigned. Handles sensitive information with professionalism and integrity while communicating openly and often among team members.
Performs additional and/or alternative duties supporting the Director of Human Resources in areas of recruitment, staffing, onboarding and routine administrative tasks.
Performs additional duties as assigned for other Executive Staff, Leadership Team members and departments, including emergency preparedness and response activities. Responsibilities may change based on operational needs.
Minimum Education, Training or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED. Five (5) years of professional business or public administrative experience preferably in a medical, hospital or administrative office environment supporting Executive Staff using electronic office equipment and professional software.
OR
Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Community Health, Accounting, Human Resource Management or related degree and three (3) years of experience that would demonstrate the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities.

Inspects food establishments for compliance with state regulations pertaining to sanitation; performs regular inspections of tourist accommodations, schools, swimming pools and septic tanks sites to ensure compliance with state and local regulations pertaining to environmental health, this may include taking product samples and forwarding for testing. Secures water samples, investigates nuisance complaints and other duties related to environmental health; request assistance from supervisors in situations beyond his/her scope of training and experience. Interprets reports generated by the Environmental Health Management Information System (EHMIS)/Graphical Users Interface (GUI) system. Analyzes and interprets data regarding test results, inspections results, etc. and presents results to appropriate types of audiences.
Minimum Education, Training or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from a college or university with a minor or twenty-four (24) semester hours in environmental health, biological or physical science or registration as a Kentucky Environmental Specialist/Sanitarian under KRS 223.
Special Requirements:

General Duties Include:
Collaborates with state and local health department staff, healthcare providers, and community partners to strengthen diabetes prevention and management efforts across the service area. Serves as a key resource for individuals with diabetes, those at risk for diabetes, and healthcare professionals by providing education, tools, and guidance that support improved health outcomes. Plans and implements community outreach and public awareness initiatives that promote diabetes prevention and control. Activities may include coordinating health fairs, community events, media outreach, and presentations to civic groups while distributing educational materials aligned with the Kentucky State Diabetes Program. Facilitates evidence-based education programs that encourage healthy lifestyle changes among individuals and families affected by diabetes or prediabetes. Programs may include diabetes education classes, weight management and nutrition initiatives, cooking demonstrations, support groups, and other community education events. Coordinates Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) activities to ensure compliance with National Diabetes Prevention Program (NDPP) standards and assists with preparation of required program reports. Supports Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) services by assisting with participant plans of care, chart audits, and other quality assurance activities. Works collaboratively with program staff and community partners to support coalition efforts, strengthen community partnerships, and identify innovative strategies that advance diabetes prevention and chronic disease management throughout the district. Assists with data collection, program evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives to strengthen program effectiveness. Supports grant-funded activities and contributes to program development efforts as needed. Participates in staff training, professional development, and networking opportunities related to diabetes prevention and public health practice, and may assist with orientation and mentoring of new program staff.
Minimum Education, Training or Experience:
Two (2) years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience. Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state. BSN may substitute for two (2) years’ experience.

General Duties Include:
Directs the activities of employees in providing medical and environmental programs and services, directs the financial management functions of a division, reviews, approves and monitors program plans for the various services and programs provided by the health department, evaluates employees’ job performance, maintains appropriate administrative procedures and policies for the operation of the division. Ensures LHD compliance with federal, state and local laws, statutes, administrative regulations and programmatic policies to ensure conformance and efficient operation of the division, meets with Board of Health to describe and discuss activities of the agency. Promotes the services of the health department within the community and attends various meetings at the local, regional and state level and analyzes strategies for determining clinical operations and budget priorities.
Minimum Education, Training or Experience:
Master’s Degree, from an accredited college or university in Public or Community Health, Health Care Administration, Business or Nursing Administration, Nursing Education or other related degree. Must have three (3) years of experience in Public Health or other health-related occupations, one (1) of which must have been in a supervisory or management capacity. Public Health and/or Clinical experience preferred.
Substitution Clause:
A Bachelor’s Degree, from an accredited college or university in Public or Community Health, Health Care Administration, Business or Nursing Administration, Nursing Education or other related degree with five (5) years of experience in Public Health or health related field will substitute for the required education.
